IDC thoroughly understands food processing, and we work with
our clients to develop solutions to their toughest challenges. There
are four technical areas of critical importance in which we have
particular expertise: process systems, utilities and infrastructure
supporting the process, environmental systems, and instrumentation
and controls.
We have designed process systems for a variety of food products
and process types. We have no set method for process
design, but rather bring our experience to bear on each client's
needs and together develop the best process for each individual
project.
Properly designed and constructed process support utilities and
building infrastructure are nearly as important as the process for
a successful plant. With our full-service capabilities we can provide
these facilities matched to the needs of the process operations.
We have completed over 500 environmental projects for clients
in the food industry. These include permits; environmental assessments
and management plans; and design and construction of wastewater
treatment, air pollution control, and solid waste management systems.
Our process control expertise includes the design, installation,
programming, and startup of PLC-based controls ranging from individual
machine controls to complete production line control systems. Our
staff experience covers multiple hardware and software platforms
including Allen-Bradley, General Electric (GE), Seimens/TI, and
Modicon.
