Latin America
IDC and our sister company, CH2M HILL, have completed a variety
of projects--both independently and through association with local
engineering firms--throughout Central America, South America, and
the Caribbean Islands. Our understanding of regional project delivery
methodologies and industry requirements adds value to the services
we offer manufacturers and distributors in Latin America. In addition,
many of our technical and management staff are bilingual.
Recent Projects
Telecarrier, Inc., Panama City, Panama
IDC provided programming, project definition, and conceptual design
for a new two-story Internet data center facility. We also served
as technical reviewers to local architects and engineers during
the design and preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
Confidential Client
IDC performed a distribution network analysis for a leading Mexican conglomerate. The goal was to improve the company's efficiency in moving raw material to and from its many distribution centers and the retail stores. The client distributes groceries, perishables, apparel and general merchandise to hundreds of outlets in Mexico and the U.S. IDC helped the client identify and analyze options for potential re-engineering and expansion of selected existing distribution centers needed to service present and future store locations. The analysis helped determine recommended space requirements and locations, materials handling and storage equipment needs, and warehouse management systems required to support the client's projected distribution needs. This project was a critical step in allowing the client to plan for its expansion and retrofit of production and warehousing facilities to meet the conglomerate's long-term distribution needs.
