Natural Ventilation Modeling
Value
Natural ventilation modeling examines airflow within structures
that are designed to rely on natural mechanisms for proper ventilation.
Modeling helps to find the optimum building and landscape configuration
that enhances airflow driven by thermal currents and wind. The goal
of natural ventilation modeling is to aid in the design of structures
that use substantially less energy and have improved indoor air
quality over traditional forced ventilation.
Services
IDC's natural ventilation modeling services are a necessity
to:
Determine ventilation rates due to stack effect and thermal
gradients.
Illustrate resultant cooling from natural ventilation.
Optimize placement and size of building openings.
Aid in the design and placement of low pressure differential
fans used in conjunction with natural ventilation strategies.
Demonstrate the actual building performance of a naturally
ventilated building before commissioning.
